Movie: 'The Space Between Us'
May 21, 1 p.m.: The first human born on Mars travels to Earth for the first time, experiencing the wonders of the planet through fresh eyes. He embarks on an adventure with a street smart girl to discover how he came to be. Rated PG-13. Free.
May 24, 7 p.m.: Are you a fanboy, Otaku, Whovian or video game obsessed? It doesn't matter why you geek out; you are invited to come and Geek Out at the library. There will be snacks. Bring your favorite game or geek item to share. Anyone in grades 6 to 12 is welcome.
May 31, 7 p.m.: Young adults are invited to drop in and check out the Anime Club! Learn about this unique style of animation often characterized by colorful graphics, vibrant characters, and fantastic themes.
Author Talk: Robert Roman
May 31, 7 p.m.: Author Robert Roman draws on extensive archival research to tell the untold story of the early days of football at The Ohio State University. "Ohio State Football: The Forgotten Dawn" recalls a time when eleven men played both sides of the ball and coaches were not allowed to communicate with the players during a game. The talk is free; books will be available for purchase.
Outback Ray's Exotic Animals
June 3, at noon and again at 2 p.m.: Join us for a fun, exciting and very educational program with Outback Ray. This hands-on show is extremely entertaining for kids of ALL ages. FREE tickets will be available beginning May 27 at the children's room desk.
Author Talk: Regina Brett
June 7, 7 p.m.: New York Times Bestselling author Regina Brett will talk about how to find your mission in life and how to live a more vibrant life at any age. She is the author of "God Never Blinks," "Be the Miracle" and "God is Always Hiring." She has been a journalist for 30 years, having been a columnist at The Beacon Journal and The Plain Dealer. She currently writes for the Cleveland Jewish News and is busy working on her next book. The presentation is free; books will be available to purchase. Byte-sized Coding for Kids
June 5 to July 17, 6:30 p.m.: Join us for a free introduction to beginner level computer coding to develop skills such as critical thinking and problem-solving. This program is for children in grades 4 to 7. Register on or after May 27 in person, online, or by calling 330-928-2117.
Summer Reading Program
The library's very popular Summer Reading Program will begin on May 24 and continue through July 29. The theme for this year's program is "Build a Better World." Children earn prizes by reading each day, while teens receive rewards for reading books and attending programs. Adults earn entry forms by reading and reviewing eligible titles. Register in person or online beginning May 24.
The library will be closed on May 29 in observance of Memorial Day.
