Letter carriers from the post offices in Cuyahoga Falls, Stow and Munroe Falls will be collecting canned and non-perishable food items to donate to Haven of Rest Ministries.

Those interested in participating are asked to place a box or can of non-perishable food next to their mailbox before the mail carrier arrives on May 13.

The food will be picked up and taken to the post office. From there it will be delivered to Haven of Rest to feed hungry men, women and children. Another option is to drop a donation of food off at your local post office that day.

Every second Saturday in May, letter carriers in more than 10,000 cities and towns across the U.S. participate in the Stamp Out Hunger National Food Drive -- the largest one-day food drive in the nation.

Haven of Rest Ministries has been in existence since 1943 and open 24/7 to help hungry, homeless, and disadvantaged people.
