SUNDAY FUNDAY BALLROOM DANCE!
The Cuyahoga Falls Parks and Recreation Department is offering a Sunday Open Dance at the Quirk Cultural Center, 1201 Grant Avenue. Looking for a chance to socialize with friends, meet new friends, and enjoy great music while trying out your dance moves? Then come to our Sunday Funday Ballroom Dance. Each evening will start with a dance lesson from 5-5:30 p.m. Then from 5:30-8 p.m. enjoy dancing to great music for Latin, Swing, Ballroom, Tango and more. Bring your own snacks or beverages. This event will be May 7. Singles and couples welcome. Pay at the door.
BALLROOM DANCE LESSONS OFFERED NEW SESSION
The Cuyahoga Falls Parks and Recreation Department is offering the following ballroom dance lessons at the Quirk Cultural Center, 1201 Grant Ave. All classes are taught in a progressive format, each series covering one dance for four weeks. To see what dances are being taught that session go to www.dancerinyou.com. Singles and couples are welcome, age teen-adult. Pay at the door, no pre-registering needed. New session begins May 4.
Beginner Ballroom- Will get you up and dancing the basics of dances, like Foxtrot, Waltz, Swing, Rumba and more. Have fun, get some exercise and be ready for social functions that include dancing. 6:30-7:15 p.m.
Intermediate Ballroom-This class will expand your repertoire and technical level on a wide variety of Ballroom, Latin and Swing dances. Dance with confidence and get noticed on the dance floor. 7:15-8 p.m.
Intermediate Argentine Tango- This class will expand your repertoire of the most beautiful and passionate dance in the world. This is the original Tango, from Buenos Aires, and seen in the movies. 8-8:45 p.m.
SLO PITCH SOFTBALL REGISTRATION
The Cuyahoga Falls Parks and Recreation Department will hold registration for the Girls Slo-Pitch Softball Program, May 6 from 10 a.m. to 1p.m. at the Quirk Cultural Center, 1201 Grant Ave. All girls between the ages of 6-15 are eligible. Practices and games take place at Newberry and Bolich fields during the week in the evenings. To register, take a birth certificate, parent and registration fee to one of the registration dates.
ADULT BALLET CLASSES NEW SESSION
The Cuyahoga Falls Parks and Recreation Department is offering Adult Ballet lessons at the Quirk Cultural Center, 1201 Grant Ave. Come join the fun, meet new people, and get some exercise. These classes are designed to promote good posture, self-confidence, and grace, while teaching students how to strengthen and protect their bodies from injury. The classes will consist of traditional ballet barre, stretching exercises and mild ballet center floor combinations. All classes are 4-week sessions with new Tuesday sessions beginning May 2 and Thursday sessions beginning May 4. Tuesday classes are Intermediate, 9-10:15 a.m., Intermediate 6-7 p.m., and Beginner 7:15-8:15 p.m. Thursday class is Beg./Int. from 9-10 a.m. All class fees must be paid at first class.
BELLY DANCING FITNESS CLASS - NEW SESSION
The Cuyahoga Falls Parks and Recreation Department is offering belly dancing fitness classes at the Quirk Cultural Center, 1201 Grant Ave. Come join the fun, meet new people, and get some exercise. Two classes are offered, the beginner class consists of low impact dancing set to authentic Middle Eastern music in a supportive atmosphere. The intermediate class is for those familiar with the basics or who are looking for more of a challenge. All classes are 4-week sessions held on Monday evenings with a new session beginning on May 1, beginners class 6-7 p.m. and intermediate class 7-8 p.m. Pre-registration is required.
Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio Enjoy meeting new people and visiting new places with a group? Falls Travel Club is open for all. The monthly membership meeting will be May 4 at 1 p.m. at the Quirk Cultural Center. The program will be Carolynn Rae - a comedian. Coffee and cookies following.

MOM PROM AT THE QUIRK CULTURAL CENTER
The Cuyahoga Falls Parks and Recreation Department is excited to announce the date for the 2017 Mom Prom -- May 6. Bring that special little man in your life to the Quirk Cultural Center for some Mother's Day fun. Ages 4 and older. Ticket prices for this event include dinner, a DJ and dancing, a keepsake photo, a flower for Moms and special treat bag for boys. Seating in on a first come basis beginning at 6:15 p.m., those wishing to sit together should arrive together. Cost per person is $12 for residents, and $14 for nonresidents.
Creative & Essay Writing Workshop
A new class offered at the Quirk Cultural Center is designed for those wishing to improve their writing for publication or for their own good. Fiction & nonfiction, magazine, newsletters, short stories, & recreation. Tuesdays April 4 25 from 6:30 8 p.m. There is a registration fee and class fee payable to the instructor. Pre registration is encouraged so the class will take place.

Winter is over and so is your to do list. You may need to fix and maybe need some assistance by learning some woodworking skills. Why not attend a Woodshop Orientation Class to be held at Quirk Cultural Center. The next evening class will be held on May 3 from 7 9 p.m. A participant will learn the usage and safety of each machine which includes saws, routers, and a press. There is a small class fee paid the night of class. After the orientation class is completed you may work independently in the workshop by purchasing a user card and is good for five visits. Or you can sign up for a three-week class on Wednesdays scheduled with the instructor. Supplies are student's responsibility according to project.
