The Cuyahoga Falls Parks and Recreation Department is offering Ballroom Nights at the Quirk Cultural Center, 1201 Grant Ave., on March 24. The event includes a light snack, music and a dance lesson provided by John and Pam Burton. Come have fun and meet new people. There will be a free lesson offered from 7:30 to 8 p.m., and an open dance from 8 to 10:30 p.m. No partner is needed. Only ages 16 and older are allowed to attend. Quilting Class,One Night,Applique Block
Quilting classes will take place at the Quirk Cultural Center. For the next three months, a different quilted block will be taught. Participants will need to bring needles, scissors and thread: all other supplies provided. This month participants will learn the applique block on March 25 from 10 a.m. to noon. There is a registration fee and class fee payable to instructor, Sandy Barstow at registration. Project on display at the Quirk Cultural Center.
Adult CeramicProject class
Adults who want to try something new but a shorter class this is for you. You can finish a project in just two nights and see if you like this art class. The large flat spring basket with eggs can be designed to matchdcor' and used for an entertaining event. Class takes place on Thursdays, March 30 and April 6 from 7 to 9 p.m. Call the Quirk Cultural Center for registration fee which covers the bisque, instruction, glazes, and firing. Pre- registration required to determine for class to begin. Project on display.
Youth springbreak activities
The Cuyahoga Falls Parks and Recreation Department has activities to keep the youth busy during Spring Break at the Quirk Cultural Center. Try one: Kids/Teens Garage Sale March 25 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Clean out the room and make some cash. Only children are permitted to sell and all items kid oriented from toys, baseball card, clothes etc. Parents need to supervise. There is a small fee for a table. Concessions available.
Also try the New Youth Theater for ages 2 1/2 up to teens. All sessions take place on March 29. Each age group is a different time and cost. Check out Wandering Aesthetics on the web and bring in the youth for some fun.
End the week with Family Ceramics on April 1 from 10 a.m. to noon.
Parent and youth each do a project which is on display at the Quirk Cultural Center.
There is a fee for this class.
