Fall is just about here and so is your to do list.
You may need to fix and maybe need some assistance by learning some woodworking skills. Why not attend a Woodshop Orientation Class at Quirk Cultural Center? The next evening class will take place Oct. 5 from 7 to 9 p.m.
A participant will learn the usage and safety of each machine which includes saws, routers, and a press. There is a small class fee paid the night of class. After the orientation class is completed, attendees may work independently in the workshop by purchasing a user card and is good for five visits. Or they can sign up for a three-week class on Wednesdays scheduled with the instructor. Supplies are student's responsibility according to project.
New - monthly card making
So many people want to make cards but do not have the time so why not try it one time a month?
Every month you can create five different cards. Supplies included. All participants need to bring is their scissors and some adhesives.
The October class is scheduled for Oct. 8 from 10 a.m. to noon. Cards are on display at the Quirk Cultural Center where class takes place. Pre-registration is required with a fee. A class fee is payable to instructor at time of registration (includes all supplies).
Family-friendly Monster Mash
Come dressed in costume and do the Monster Mash at the Quirk Cultural Center on Oct. 15 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Ticket prices for this family friendly event are different for residents and for non-residents and include dinner, a DJ and dancing, a keepsake photo, and a Halloween treat bag for the kids.
Reservations should be made in advance starting now for residents and Oct. 7 for non-residents by calling the Quirk Cultural Center at 330-971-8425. Limited space is available so register early.
A new short class for beginners called Pottery Technique will be offered at the Quirk Cultural Center. New participants will benefit from individual attention to perfecting their skill.
Class is scheduled for Thursdays from 7 to 9:30 p.m., Oct. 6 through 20. Registration is required with a fee which includes firing and glazes. Clay is additional cost.
Since the kids have a day off, take them to the Quirk Cultural Center for some art work.
A ceramic class is scheduled for Oct. 14. Ages 6 to 9 will meet from 9 to 10:30 a.m., while the youth ages 10 to 15 will meet from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. There is a registration fee which includes all supplies and use of tools to complete the project.
essential oils class
The Cuyahoga Falls Parks and Recreation Department is offering°Working with Essential Oils classes at the Quirk Cultural Center, 1201 Grant Ave.
Three different classes are offered this fall. Participants will be introduced to all the healthy benefits of using 100 percent pure essential oils and will discuss the proper ways of using the oils and why to use them. Having essential oils in the home is a great first line of defense for all types of aliments. For more information and class fees call the Parks and Recreation Office at 330-971-8225. Preregistration is required.
Rollerballs for Kids: This class is for anyone who has children in their lives. Come learn more about essential oils and make your own natural rollerball blend for: protection from seasonal elements, soothing occasional skin irritations, supporting immune function, promoting restful sleep, focus and more. Oct. 13, 6:30 to 8 p.m.
Jewelry making classes
The Cuyahoga Falls Parks and Recreation Department is offering jewelry-making classes at the Quirk Cultural Center, 1201 Grant Ave.
All materials will be provided. Bring a desk lamp if you have one.
Starburst Earrings-All level project
Participants will learn how to use beads to create the shape of a diamond, follow the bead path and connect with other beads to make them look stunning.

Black Romance Necklace-All level project
Very versatile, elegant necklace, which is also a bracelet. Come and enjoy with the group to create this masterpiece together. Participants will learn how to use this chain stitch to develop this necklace.

Dew Shine Christmas Earrings-Beginner project
Participants will learn how to use right angle weave and peyote stitch techniques and will leave with a completely handmade set of earrings.

Angel Light Christmas Bracelet-Beginner project

Sunday Funday Ballroom Dance
The Cuyahoga Falls Parks and Recreation Department is offering a Sunday Open Dance at the Quirk Cultural Center.
Looking for a chance to socialize with friends, meet new friends, and enjoy great music while trying out dance moves? Then come to the Sunday Funday Ballroom Dance. Each evening will start with a dance lesson from 5 to 5:30 p.m., then from 5:30 to 8 p.m., enjoy dancing to great music for Latin, Swing, Ballroom, Tango and more. Bring your own snacks or beverages. This event will take place Oct. 9. Singles and couples welcome. Pay at the door.
