Seminar on heroin epidemic will be Sept. 29 at Cuyahoga Falls Natatorium

Christ Community Chapel and Parents Of Prodigals of Hudson will present "Don't be blind-sided by heroin," a seminar on the heroin epidemic in Summit County, Sept. 29 at the Cuyahoga Falls Natatorium, 2345 4th St., in the Middle Conference Room. Registration is at 6:30 p.m. The seminar is from 7 to 9 p.m.

Over 1,000 people have overdosed (and many have died) from heroin in Summit County this year; many are in their teens and 20s.

All concerned parents and family members who want to know the signs of heroin use, information on moods, and behavior are encouraged to attend.

There will be a demonstration of the Cleveland Clinic Akron General Edwin Shaw Rehabilitation Hospital Project DAWN program about Naloxone and how to administer the life-saving medication.

Following training, Narcan kits will be made available to Summit County residents. Information on treatment centers and where to get help will be presented.
