The Cuyahoga Falls Parks and Recreation Department is offering Ballroom Nights at the Quirk Cultural Center, 1201 Grant Avenue Sept. 23. The event includes a light snack, music and a dance lesson provided by John and Pam Burton. Come have fun and meet new people. There will be a free lesson offered from 7:30 to 8 p.m., and an open dance from 8 to 10:30 p.m. No partner needed. The event is for those ages 16 and older only.
The Cuyahoga Falls Parks and Recreation Department is offering belly dancing fitness class at the Quirk Cultural Center. Come join the fun, meet new people, and get some exercise. This beginner class consists of low impact dancing set to authentic Middle Eastern music in a supportive atmosphere. All classes are four-week sessions on Monday evenings with a new session beginning Sept. 19 and continuing through Oct. 10 from 7 to 8 p.m. Pre-registration is required. Essential Oils class
The Cuyahoga Falls Parks and Recreation Department is offering°Working with Essential Oils classes at the Quirk Cultural Center, 1201 Grant Ave., in Cuyahoga Falls. Three different classes are offered this fall. Participants will be introduced to all the healthy benefits of using 100 percent pure essential oils and we will discuss the proper ways of using the oils and why to use them. Rollerball Remedies: Choose to make two natural remedy rollerball blend for: allergies, bumps and bruises, colds and flu, congestion, digestive problems, focus, insomnia or muscle aches and pains. Sept. 22 from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
Rollerballs for Kids: This class is for anyone who has children in their lives. Learn more about essential oils and make a natural rollerball blend for: protection from seasonal elements, soothing occasional skin irritations, supporting immune function, promoting restful sleep, focus and more. Oct. 13 from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
Rollerball for Babies and Mamas: Make natural rollerball blends for easing discomfort of baby's new teeth, respiratory and digestive support, mama mood support and support for breastfeeding moms. Nov. 17 from 6:30-8 p.m.
Family Ceramic Class
To enjoy a class with the kids (age 5 and up), try a family ceramic class at the Quirk Cultural Center. The first fall project is scheduled for Oct. 1 and 8 from 10 a.m. to noon. Both parents and children will do a Halloween project; youth will do a small face plate (gumpkin, ghost, Frankenstein) while the adults will do a "boo" piece with ghosts. Bisque, stains, and instruction included. The project is on display at the Quirk Cultural Center. There is a fee for parent and child as a duo plus extra children or parent. Each person gets to complete a project that goes together. Class size is limited so sign up early.
