Presidential Park Gardeners will meet Sept. 20

Presidential Park Gardeners will meet Sept. 20 at 6:00 p.m. at the home of hostess Chris Binger; her co-hostess for the evening will be Diana Allaman. The members will start the evening with a light supper, followed by a business meeting. The program for the evening will be a fall craft demonstration presented by Sherry Webb.


Historical Society meets Sept. 26

The Northampton Historical Society's September meeting will be Sept. 26 at a special location and time. It will be at Keyser Barn at 851 West Bath Road, in Keyser Park.

The barn door will open at 4 p.m. for social time and a tour of the barn. The program will start at 6 p.m. Refreshments will be provided. The meeting/program will end at 7 p.m.; the park closes at dusk. The public is invited.

Ted Dudre will present the story of General Alvin C. Voris, the highest ranking officer to come out of Summit County during the Civil War.

The Keyser Park entrance is on Keyser Parkway off West Road; the barn parking lot is on top of a small hill on left side of main parking. For more information, contact David Brown at 234-542-3982.

Silver Lake

Historical Society hosts Oct. 6

The Silver Lake Historical Society will host an informational program Oct. 6 at 7 p.m. at Silver Lake Village Hall (2961 Kent Road) on the Underground Railroad. The speaker, Paul Goeble, will focus on the history of the Underground Railroad in Ohio and the local area. Everyone is welcome.

IAC to host

Spaghetti Dinner Oct. 1

The IAC (Italian American Citizen's Club), with the assistance of the Sicilian-American Women's Club, invite all to their kick-off "October- Italian Heritage Month" Spaghetti Dinner Oct. 1 from 4:30 - 7:30 p.m. at the IAC Club (at the corner of Francis and 9th Street in Cuyahoga Falls). There will be spaghetti and meatballs, salad, bread and butter, cake and coffee. A cash bar will be available.

Silver Lake Garden Club will meet

Sept. 19

The Silver Lake Garden Club will have a general meeting Sept. 19 at 12:30 p.m. in Village Hall, 2961 Kent Road.

The program is entitled "Eat Healthy and be Happy."

Section III will host and serve desert.

Personal Chef Giulia, with a PhD and bachelor degree as well as 35 years experience in preparing vegetarian meals will share her taste tested recipes with ingredients and nutritional information. Attendees are requested to be on time for the tasting of small samples Chef Giulia will prepare in conjunction with the serving of desert.

A business meeting will follow.

Special note: The Luncheon/Fashion Show, "Dressed to the Nines," is scheduled for Oct. 11 at the Silver Lake Country Club, starting at 11:30 a.m., with lunch served at noon. Reservations are required and there is a cost to attend.

Sons of Italy Card Party is Sept. 26

A Sons of Italy Card Party will take place Sept. 26 from 5-8 p.m. at Quirk Cultural Center, 1201 Grant Ave., in Cuyahoga Falls.

Admission includes: sandwich, chips, fruit salad, dessert and beverage.

Raffle prize tickets will be on sale.

Ladies Cemetery Association will host Tea Luncheon Oct. 1

The Ladies Cemetery Association will host their Third Annual Tea Luncheon on Oct. 1 at noon at the Quirk Cultural Center, 1201 Grant Ave.

Proceeds from the event will be used for the restoration of the Historic Chapel at Oakwood Cemetery and for the restoration of the stained glass windows.
