Community Forum with the
Aug. 25, 7 p.m.: The International Institute of Akron welcomes new Americans to Ohio and offers programs and services that assist those born outside the United States to integrate into American society. IIA staff will discuss the journey of the immigrant and refugee, what their early experience in the United States looks like, and the benefits they bring to our community. A Q&A session will follow the presentation.
Aug. 25, 7 p.m.: Gypsy jazz, also known as gypsy swing or hot club jazz, is a style of jazz music made famous by guitarist Django Reinhardt in the 1930s. Its infectious rhythm and exotic but familiar melodies will capture your soul and transport you to a different time and place. Enjoy an eclectic mix of songs ranging from the style's beginnings to present day. Free.
