Know Your Android

Aug. 22, 6:30 p.m.: Learn how to use your Android device for sending emails, searching the Internet, downloading apps, and more. Please bring your charged device as well as any relevant user names and passwords. Register in person, online, or by calling 330-928-2117.

Tots and Treats

Aug. 24, 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.: It's back to school for older siblings, so parents and youngsters are invited to stop by for coffee and donuts. Meet someone new or touch base with friends during this free play program with new Early Literacy toys. Registration is not required. Free.

Anime Club

Aug. 24, 7 p.m.: Young adults are invited to learn about this unique style of animation often characterized by colorful graphics, vibrant characters and fantastic themes.

Aug. 25, 7 p.m.: The International Institute of Akron welcomes new Americans to Ohio and offers programs and services that assist those born outside the United States to integrate into American society. IIA staff will discuss the journey of the immigrant and refugee, what their early experience in the United States looks like, and the benefits they bring to our community. A Q&A session will follow the presentation.

Jazz Concert:

Moustache Yourself

Aug. 25, 7 p.m.: Gypsy jazz, also known as gypsy swing or hot club jazz, is a style of jazz music made famous by guitarist Django Reinhardt in the 1930s. Its infectious rhythm and exotic but familiar melodies will capture your soul and transport you to a different time and place. Enjoy an eclectic mix of songs ranging from the style's beginnings to present day. Free.

John Schmidt Open House

Aug. 25, 7 p.m.: Stop by this community open house to speak with Council Member John Schmidt, the District Two representative on Summit County Council.
