Bailey Road

Christian Church

Bailey Road Christian Church, at 3200 Bailey Road across from Lincoln Elementary School, invites the community to attend worship, Sunday School, small group gatherings and ministries of the church.

The hand chimes choir meets on Thursdays at 6:30 p.m. and the adult choir practices on Thursdays at 7:30 p.m.

A Men's small group study is discussing the book of Philippians at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesdays.

Northampton Bible Church

Do you want to learn how to study the Bible but don't know how to begin? Do you want to understand how God's Word can apply to your life each day?

Join a Northampton Bible Church neighborhood small group in their journey to uncover the answers to these questions and many more through Rick Warren's "40 Days in the Word" beginning the week of Oct. 2.

Bethany United Church of Christ

Bethany United Church of Christ is located at 1235 Broad Blvd. (the northeast corner of Broad Boulevard and 13th Street).

The building is handicapped accessible by parking in the small lot adjacent to the church on 13th Street. Bethany welcomes visitors to join in worship and fellowship. New experiences await those of all ages.

The fall schedule has begun.

9:30- 9:50: Grades 1-8, Music (Choir Room)

Grades 1-8 will go to classrooms after the Children's Message in worship.

Worship service will be in the Sanctuary beginning at 10:30. Pastor Steve Welker's sermons for September will follow the theme "Then and Now."

Interested in music? Rehearsals for Memory Bell Choir and Chancel Choir and will be on Thursdays with 6-7 for Bells and 7:30-9:00 for Chancel. 7th Day (comprised of high schoolers) has begun their season of practice. Young Shepherds is a choir of children Grades 1-8, and the Son Singers are the preschoolers.

As a mission project, save 2017 calendars received in the mail from charitable foundations and donate them to the church for Willard Food Pantry clients.

A group of talented musicians practice weekly on Wednesday evening in the Social Hall. They are the Bethany Band and share their selections and bring joy to various locations such as nursing homes and libraries.

Youth Fellowship has a full month of activities planned including game night with an area church's youth group they met during a recent mission trip.

First United

Methodist Church

Worship services at First United Methodist Church, 245 Portage Trail, are at 8:30 and 11 a.m. Sunday School is from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.

Child care is available for infants through preschoolers all morning.

The First Church Concert Series will present pianist, Jooyoung Kim, on Sept. 18 at 3 p.m. Dr. Kim serves as Adjunct Piano Professor at Indiana Wesleyan and is a Steinway artist. She has been critically acclaimed on international stages for her technique, musicianship, and artistry. Since making her debut at the age of 12 as a soloist with the Korean Symphony Orchestra, Dr. Kim has presented numerous solo and chamber recitals in Korea, Germany, Spain, France, Italy, Russia, and the United States.

The Rev. Dr. Tom Poremba will present a Sunday night seminar entitled "Jesus and the Seven Churches of Asia Minor" beginning on Sept. 18 at 6:30 p.m. Dr. Poremba is a retired United Methodist elder and has a unique ability to present both Biblical information and its relationship to one's spiritual life. First Church is sponsoring a Yoga class every Saturday from 9 to 10 a.m. The class is for all levels, from those who have never tried it to experts. All are welcome to attend.

Going Strong, a group of active retirees of the church and community, will visit the Holden Arboretum and the James A. Garfield home on Oct. 14. First Christian Church

First Christian Church, on the corner of Second and Stow, invites all to come and explore faith in Sunday School, small groups, or worship.

Child care is available for Sunday School and Sunday Worship. On Sunday mornings at 10:45 explore Scripture's application to everyday life, or get a "Second Wind" at the alternative worship service on Wednesday nights at 6:30. This informal and interactive service looks at current events through the lens of faith.

Sunday Schools are beginning this week. There are programs available for all ages. Classes begin at 9:30 a.m.°

With all the excitement surrounding the new book "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child" and the upcoming movie "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them," what better time to start a study of The Gospel According to Harry Potter? This study will be on Wednesday evenings and will last eight to 10 weeks beginning Sept. 21 at 7 p.m. Studies will include movie clips, readings, and discussion as part of this imaginative exploration of the gospel themes. All are invited.

PUBlic Theology will meet at Ohio Brewing Sept. 29 at 7 p.m.°FCC will have an outdoor worship service and pet blessing on Oct. 2.

Saint Joseph Parish

Youth Group begins with a meeting on Sept. 11 from 6 to 7 p.m.

Enjoy fun with friends, faith formation and service activities. The parish's Sept. 11 topic will be Service to Others. The parish will also collect ideas for future activities. St. Joseph Parish School of Religion (PSR) for grades one through 8 have begun. Classes will take place at St. Joseph Parish School on Mondays from 6:30 to 7:45 p.m. There is a cost to participate. Join the parish Sept. 23 for the first annual St. Joseph Athletic Association Golf Outing. This four-person scramble includes 18 holes with cart, continental breakfast, dinner, and golf. Registration is at 8 a.m. with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. at Brookledge Golf Club -1621 Bailey Road in Cuyahoga Falls. There is a per golfer charge, a per foursome charge and a charge for dinner. Northampton United Methodist Church

Northampton United Methodist Church's small group studies begin next week.

Beginning on Sept. 25 at 7 p.m., (note date change) the church will have adult studies that coincide with the youth Radi8 small group time. On Sept. 20 at 6:30 p.m., the church's Bonfire gatherings begin. Ignite groups will be short-term groups for specific purposes (new members, baptism, introduction to Bible study). Refine groups are six- to 10-week groups that will study scripture or a specific topic. The Illuminate groups are life groups gathering for the length of the school year to dig deeper into faith and focus on living it out daily. Grief Share will begin Sept. 25, at 6:30 p.m. This is a class for those are grieving the loss of a loved one as they are guided through the grieving process. Contact the church for more information.

Pastor Keith McLaughlin invites the community to join in worship on Sundays at 8:30 a.m. (traditional), 9:45 a.m. and 11:10 a.m. (contemporary). Infant through preschool care is offered in the Children's Center across from the main sanctuary. Sunday School classes for children through adults are offered during the 9:45 and 11:10 hour. Teens in sixth through 12th grades are invited to Radi8 during the 11:10 worship hour.

Pilgrim United Church of Christ

Pilgrim United Church of Christ is located at 130 Broad Blvd. in Cuyahoga Falls, invites community members to join the congregation each Sunday for worship service at 10:30 a.m. in the sanctuary.

Beginning Sept. 25 from 9:45 to 10:15 a.m., Pilgrim's Book Study of "A Worrier's Guide to the Bible: 50 Verses to Ease Anxieties" by Gary Zimak will meet in the adult library.

Pilgrim invites the community to support the Save Our Steeple Campaign on Oct. 28. The FamFest USA Theatre Group and Pilgrim's Act-It UP! Community Theatre Group have joined forces to present a benefit performance of "Ultimus Veneficus: The Last of the Sorcerers" written by F.A. Taylor. Presbyterian Church

Northminster Presbyterian Church, 104 W. Portage Trail Extension in Cuyahoga Falls, worships at 10:30 a.m. each Sunday with the Rev. Stephanie Crossland.

The Rev. Crossland's message on Sept. 18 will be "Making Accommodations," and on Sept. 25, she will speak on "Take Hold of Eternal Life." On both Sundays, she will include readings from Luke and I Timothy. World Communion Sunday will be celebrated on Oct. 2. Children's Sunday School classes meet on all Sundays, except when Holy Communion is observed. The classes gather during the morning worship service, following "A Moment with God's Children."

The classes include stories, games, crafts and music. The Junior Shining Stars class is for children in kindergarten through second grade, and The Senior Shining Stars class is for those in third grade through sixth grade. Each week in September, both classes have been learning about "Joseph's Journey,"and will end the month specifically studying "Joseph Saves the Day" and "Joseph and His Brothers Reunited." All children are welcome to join the classes at any time. A nursery room is staffed and open for those children under the age of 5. Also, a cry room is available at the rear of the sanctuary. The church is handicapped accessible and large print bulletins and hymnals are available.

The men of the church meet for breakfast on the last Sunday morning of the month at the Village Gardens Restaurant at 8 a.m. The next gathering will be on Sept. 25.

The women of the church, "The Girls," meet for breakfast on the last Wednesday of the month at the Bob Evans Restaurant of Hudson Drive at 9 a.m. Their September gathering will be on the 28th.
