The Cuyahoga Falls High School Stage Crew and Student Council will present The Blue Ticks in concert at the Cuyahoga Falls High School Auditorium Dec. 8 at 7 p.m. Doors will open at 6 p.m. The event will feature the rockin' country music of The Blue Ticks as well as concession sales and a basket raffle. The Blue Ticks have most recently performed at The Legends in Green and at the Cuyahoga Falls Rockin' on the River Festival. Tickets are $5 presale (available at the CFHS Activities Office) or at the door. Proceeds from this evening's performance will benefit the Hyatt Family of Munroe Falls. Kevin Hyatt and his older brother, Steve, both graduated from CFHS. Kevin was in a tragic accident in 2003 which left him with traumatic brain injury. He has since been living with his parents, Fred and Cathy Hyatt as he slowly recovers, literally re-learning how to put one foot in front of the other. The Hyatts have had their own medical issues: Mr. Hyatt has been living with Parkinson's disease for the past 15 years and took an early medical retirement from his elementary principal job because of the Parkinson's. Mrs. Hyatt is in need of a hip replacement. Additionally, Mrs. Hyatt has not worked since 2003 as she has become the stay-at-home caregiver for both men. According to the benefit's organizers, Kevin was an outstanding student athlete during his time at CFHS and has been inducted into the Cuyahoga Falls Athletic Hall of Fame. His brother Steve teaches at CVCA. Members of The Blue Ticks are: Ed Dennis (CFHS Class of '93), vocals and guitar; Chuck Curtis, vocals and lead guitar; Brian Jones (son of a current CFHS teacher), vocals and drums; Don Patterson (CFHS Class of '89), bass; and Todd Shafer (CFHS Class of '89), vocals and keys.
