Boyfriend arrested: A 43-year-old Falls man was arrested and charged with fourth-degree misdemeanor domestic violence after his live-in girlfriend reported he struck her in the face with his hand and then grabbed her by the head and forced her to the ground at their residence at 8 p.m. May 14. The woman did not have any visible injuries at the time of the report, police said.
Laptop, etc. taken: A resident of the 4200 block of Americana Drive reported someone entered his apartment by unknown means and took $1,655 worth of electronics including his laptop computer between 10:40 p.m. May 13 and 9:15 a.m. May 14.
Woman awakens to intruder in home: A woman living in the 4200 block of Americana Drive reported someone came into her apartment while she was sleeping around 3 a.m. on May 10. There was a short struggle, the report said, and the person, whom the woman did not know, left. She did not report any injuries, and nothing was stolen. Police said this case is under investigation.
Locker broken into, cash missing: A Falls man reported someone damaged the lock on his locker at the Natatorium, located at 2345 Fourth St., and took approximately $50 in cash out of his wallet between 4:30 and 6:15 p.m. May 12. There are no leads or suspects.
Another locker broken into, cash taken: A Falls man reported someone stole approximately $80 from his locked locker at the Natatorium between 1:40 and 3:30 p.m. May 12. There are no suspects.
DRUG ABUSE PARAPHERNALIA
Possible pot pipe produced: A 58-year-old Falls man was arrested and charged with drug abuse paraphernalia, a minor misdemeanor, after he was found with a glass pipe with burnt residue of suspected marijuana inside his residence on State Road at 1:35 a.m. May 14.
Electronics taken away: A resident of the 2500 block of Sylvan Road reported someone entered her house, possibly through an unlocked back door, and stole $900 worth of electronics between 7 a.m. and 2 p.m. May 10. There are suspects, the report said.
Guitar gone: The owner of a music store in the 600 block of Howe Avenue reported someone took a six-string guitar and left the store without paying for it at 1:05 p.m. May 9. The guitar was valued at $1,000. Police said a 28-year-old Ravenna man was arrested in connection with this case.
Toxic combo: The manager of a business in the 400 block of Chestnut Boulevard called 911 after an employee passed out for an unknown reason at 3:11 p.m. May 10. Falls Fire transported the employee, identified as a 19-year-old Falls man, to Akron City Hospital. According to the report, the teen had ingested a combination of meth, mushrooms and LSD.
THEFT BY DECEPTION
Grandparent scammed: An 80-year-old Falls woman reported she was tricked on May 9 into spending $4,200 on gift cards to free from jail her granddaughter whom she found out later was never in police custody. The victim said she received a phone call from someone posing as her granddaughter and another person claiming to be her granddaughter's attorney. The woman ran out and bought the gift cards and sent the "granddaughter" the cards' access codes.
ROBBERY, RESISTING ARREST
Lost his head over headphones: A 24-year-old Akron man was arrested and charged with second-degree felony robbery and second-degree misdemeanor resisting arrest after he fought with store employees as he allegedly stole a speaker and headphones valued at $170 at an electronics store in the 400 block of Howe Avenue at 4:40 p.m. May 9. When officers arrived, the man refused to follow their orders and was forcibly placed in handcuffs. He was transported to Western Reserve Hospital, according to the report.
