Cuyahoga Falls Police Reports (Sept. 4, 2016)

Rock reportedly thrown from overpass: A Richfield woman reported she was driving her 2013 Honda Pilot on state Route 8 around 9:30 a.m. Aug. 27 when someone threw a rock at her vehicle from the walking bridge overhead near Graham Road. Her vehicle sustained a quarter-sized chip in the windshield directly in front of the driver's seat. She was advised to contact her insurance company and repair the damage, which was estimated at $100.


Woman punches brother: A 21-year-old Akron woman was arrested and charged with domestic violence after her brother reported she punched him in the nose during an argument at his home around 11:40 a.m. Aug. 26. No injuries were reported.

Man punches sister: A 23-year-old Falls man was arrested and charged with domestic violence after his sister reported he punched her in the nose after an argument the two had over earphones at her home around 11 p.m. Aug. 25. No injuries were reported.

Troublesome trio arrested: Three people were arrested after an employee of a bar in the 2400 block of State Road reported they began a "verbal display" with her and other patrons over a drink they were served around 1:40 a.m. Aug. 27. All three people allegedly began to disrupt other patrons, according to the report, and were asked to leave. While they were leaving, one of them, a 25-year-old Akron man, allegedly spat in the face of a Cuyahoga Falls woman who, according to the report, was not involved in the initial dispute over the drink. The Akron man was charged with assault and disorderly conduct. His two female companions, 23 and 24, both of Cuyahoga Falls, were charged with disorderly conduct.


Life's a grind: A 22-year-old Canton woman was cited for possession of marijuana after police found a grinder with suspected marijuana pieces in her car during the investigation of a traffic crash at State Road and Steels Corners Road around 11:59 p.m. Aug. 26.

Damage reported: A resident of the 2400 block of Sixth Street reported someone entered her residence through an unlocked half-opened window to her front porch while she was away between 8 a.m. and 9 p.m. Aug. 26. A $20 decorative frame located in the kitchen was damaged. Nothing was reported missing.


Stuff missing after guest left: A Cuyahoga Falls woman reported she suspects a person she knows who spent the night wither her in her Pleasant Meadow Boulevard apartment Aug. 23 left with $2,470 of her property without her permission. No arrest had been made as of Aug. 31, police said.

Tools to tune of $5,000 taken from shop: The manager of an auto service business in the 1500 block of State Road reported someone stole more than $5,000 worth of tools from the shop shortly after 1 p.m. Aug. 25. There is a suspect.

Nearly $7,000 in tools stolen from store: A warrant was requested charging a 42-year-old Grove City man with felony theft after an asset protection specialist for a hardware store in the 300 block of Howe Avenue on Aug. 24 reported the man left the store without paying for $6,714 worth of power tools at 9 p.m. Aug. 1.


Man signs brother's name on ticket: Warrants were requested Aug. 27 for forgery and identity fraud charges against a 45-year-old Akron man after an investigation determined he used his brother's information during an OVI arrest at Bailey Road and Northmoreland Boulevard around 11:56 p.m. July 19. According to the police report, the Akron man identified himself by using his brother's name, Social Security number and date of birth and signed his brother's name on the citation. The man has outstanding warrants for a forgery probation violation, the report said.


Vehicle reported stolen: The sales manager for a used car dealership in the 2400 block of Front Street on Aug. 25 reported someone stole a 2013 silver Toyota Venza from the lot between noon July 15 and 10 a.m. Aug. 12. The vehicle's value was estimated at $25,000. A set of keys is also missing, the report said.


Five crash victims injured: A head-on collision on State Road sent five people to two hospitals Aug. 25. According to the police report, a 32-year-old Akron woman was traveling north on State Road around 5:55 p.m. with three children, two 9 and one 11, when a southbound Audi A-4 operated by a 19-year-old Cuyahoga Falls man went left of center and struck her Jeep Commander head-on totalling both vehicles and causing injury to all parties. Both drivers suffered incapacitating injuries and were transported to Summa Akron City Hospital. The children in the Jeep were taken to Akron Children's Hospital, for non-incapacitating injuries. The Falls man was cited for failure to control.
