NORTHFIELD, Ohio (AP) -- Construction is starting on another Ohio racino -- a Hard Rock-themed gaming house scheduled to open later this year between Cleveland and Akron.
The harness-racing track Northfield Park and Hard Rock International are partnering on the gambling and entertainment complex, expected to cost $250 million to $300 million.
Track owner Brock Milstein tells the Akron Beacon Journal (http://bit.ly/Wv4VUo) that construction will ramp up in the next few weeks.
The 200,000-square-foot building will have around 2,500 slots-like video lottery terminals, a 250-seat comedy club, steakhouse, music venue and Hard Rock Cafe.
The first of several planned racinos around the state opened last summer at Scioto Downs in Columbus.
