FORT MITCHELL, Ky. (AP) -- An automotive group is proposing to put a Mercedes-Benz dealership at the site of a defunct motel in northern Kentucky that was known for its cheap rooms.
Ben Dusing, an attorney whose firm is general counsel for Ohio-based Collection Auto Group, told The Kentucky Enquirer (http://bit.ly/12XVIdY) that the company will ask officials in Fort Mitchell for a zoning amendment. If the request is approved, Dusing said the dealership could open by Aug. 1.
The newspaper reports it would be the first Mercedes-Benz dealership in northern Kentucky. The state has four others: one each in Ashland, Bowling Green, Lexington and Louisville.
Burr Travis, who lives near the hotel property that has fallen into disrepair, says he thinks the proposal would increase property values and would be a "class deal."
