Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish School will host its fifth annual IHM Mustang 5K and 1 mile Fun Run/Walk on May 6.
The 5K race will begin at 9 a.m. by the entrance to the school at 2859 Lillis Drive. The 1 mile Fun Run/Walk will follow shortly after, once all 5K runners have cleared.
The event also includes numerous raffle baskets, fantastic silent auction prizes, awards and plenty of food and refreshments. Ed Cora and Friends band will be performing live music near the start/finish line.
The Cuyahoga Falls Police Color Guard will be in attendance and many Cuyahoga Falls Police officers will be running to show their gratitude for the IHM Prayer Warrior Project, a program this year where IHM students have shown their support for the Cuyahoga Falls Police Department through their prayers, interactions, donations and ongoing communication with the police force. Local team mascots from the Rubber Ducks and Scrappy Raccoon from the city of Cuyahoga Falls will be present.
Participants in the 5K are offered chip-timing with live results, race photos, numerous awards including kid-friendly awards categories, and an IHM alumni award category.
The four previous races have averaged between 600 800 participants and have raised proceeds for technology and arts learning opportunities.
2017 proceeds benefit school operations in an effort to enrich learning opportunities and contribute to student's achievements and success.
